Systems

Water Conservation Designs can furnish everything from a home-and-garden residential rain-harvest kit, to an industrial system for anything from process-water, to washdown and other required industrial uses. In between, falls mid-size to large-scale residential systems. We offer both above ground and below ground solutions. Multi-tank and multi-zone systems can be designed with any size or purpose in mind. We also offer gravity-flow and pumping systems, or hybrids of both if needed.

For our Florida customers, we are general contractors, water-well contractors, and backflow testers and technicians. Because of this, we are capable of using strutural steel, concrete, and lumber as integral components with the approprate permits. Supplemental well-water can be utilized and we offer plumbing and electrical services on any scale. Our engineers are experienced with water features and fountains, which can be integrated with rain-harvesting systems as well.

We provide metal tanks in numerous varieties for both above and below ground applications. Concrete cisterns, vaults, and tanks are among our specialties. In smaller applications, these can be precast elsewhere and transported to the job site.

Poured-in-place concrete, lined, and unlined versions can be site-constructed to many sizes and shapes. An advantage to concrete is longevity, and the ability to custom size and fit the unit to a particularly tight spot or shape. Concrete can also be shaped creatively and artistically for effective decorative or architectural aesthetic.

We proudly offer great diversity, and take pride in our ability to meet your needs!

Above Ground Storage Tank
Rainwater Collection

An above ground rainwater collection system is adaptable from small to very large tank (collection and storage) systems and lends itself well to a variety of applications.

Anything from a mall or big-box store, to a farm or workshop can benefit from above ground tank rainwater harvesting. Homes can even have mid-size above ground systems which can be hidden with landscape vegetation, walls, or fences.

Above ground systems are also good from the standpoint of gravity fed water pressure, even when a pump is not used. Roof-top collection is normally fed from a gutter down-spout.

In applications where land-use or aesthetics are not critical, numerous tanks can be manifolded together with a single fill and any outlet configuration.

Residential and Commercial Mid-Sized Underground Systems

These systems are underground tanks from 2,500 to 10,000 gallons in capacity. A submersible pump is sized to your individual needs and application. It can be filled from a roof top gutter downspout or by catching water coming off of a driveway or parking area.

The system will pump water until a predetermined low level in the tank is reached. At this point, the system will automatically switch back to the city or well water as the main water source.

Back flow preventers are included, as required. The system can be used for irrigation or as normal (non-potable) outside water. Spigots, hoses and irrigation can all be feed with this water.

A meeting with us will allow us to calculate the water storage volume as well as your pump capacity depending on what you want the system to do.

Large-Scale Underground Tank System

This can be used for residential, commercial, industrial, or agricultural applications. These systems commonly involve 10,000 gallon underground tanks that are manifolded together to hold 50,000 gallons or more.

These systems can irrigate yards and accomodate larger volume water uses. When a predetermined low water level in the system is reached, it will automatically switch back to well or city water until rain fills the tanks again.

Depending on the municipality, a system like this can be used for fire-protection as well. Fill and collection is best from pre-sloped driveways or parking areas, however rooftop collection or a combination of the two are available.
